A visible gap is not a profit. Moving coins or money between exchanges costs withdrawal fees and time, the price can move while you wait, and South Korea restricts how money moves in and out of the country. The figure above only subtracts two trading fees.

Blue: BTC on Upbit vs. global median at the ECB rate. Dashed: the same gap on a USDT basis. Recorded every 5 minutes.
How this is calculated
- Global reference price: the median USD price on Binance, OKX, Kraken, Bitget, Gate and HTX. USDT prices are converted to USD with Kraken's USDT/USD price.
- Korean prices (Upbit, Bithumb) are converted with the daily ECB USD/KRW reference rate. Because that rate updates once a day, we also show the gap measured with Upbit's live USDT price.
- Prices are last-trade prices from each exchange's public API, refreshed about every 20 seconds. Exchanges that do not answer are left out of the calculation and shown with a dash (—).
